How to get more exposure for my photography?

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone knows a good way to get more exposure in photography, not exposure in the photography sense, as in more people looking at my work, etc… Right now, I have a deviantart, and that has gotten me some pretty good exposure. I’ve heard that newspapers will sometimes publish photos, but I have no idea how I would submit my photography to them, or which newspapers in particular I would submit my photos to.

try entering your work in contests or festivals… usually they have these at libraries or fundraising fares
or you can create your own personal website and put your photos up…

Waiting for people to come to your site could take awhile. You can post a link to your site on your facebook and make sure your friends know about it. It also might be helpful to print the photos on high quality photo printer paper and hand them out to your friends or family–you can even send them in to newspapers or magazines. I hope that helps.
