I am saving up my money, and want to know what a good photography camera for a beginner would be; I would like it to be able to take good long distance shots also.

Are you looking for a point and shoot or DSLR? For a decent DSLR camera I’d suggest something Like a Nikon D3100 with kit lens, Canon Rebel t1i with kit lens.

I have the Nikon d40. It’s a great camera and Nikon is really reliable. It is my first SLR and I really like it! I have been thinking about updating soon.. But it really is a fantastic beginner’s SLR!

depends on age, budget and intent…
if it is typical teen snapshots, save your money and get a point and shoot…
if it is for something more serious, then start with a bridge - Fuji HS-10 (HS-20) or Canon SX30
